One of the perks of working at Chemist Warehouse? Having an endless array of new and iconic products at our fingertips. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

For the first edition of the Tried & Tested series, we asked our team to share the fragrances they’re currently wearing and loving. From nostalgic favourites and viral discoveries to perfumes tied to breakups, weddings and 3 am Macca’s runs, these are the scents our team actually wears.

Flowerbomb – Viktor & Rolf

There comes a time in every teenager’s life when they reconsider the Lynx and Impulse and move on to eau de parfum. I was in my final year of high school when one of the girls in my class wore Flowerbomb. I was obsessed – I had to ask what she was wearing because I needed it immediately.

It took a few shifts at my part-time job to afford it, but once I finally bought it, I was hooked. Bye-bye body spray, hello big-girl EDP.

If you know me, you’ll know I’m not usually a fan of traditionally feminine fragrances. I tend to prefer gender-neutral scents, so it might be surprising that Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum remains in my rotation. The secret is in the amber base note, which balances the florals and leaves behind a warm, spicy blend of patchouli and jasmine. This one is reserved for big nights out. It lasts from the pre-drinks all the way to the Macca’s mop-up at 3 am. I also remember seeing the bottle for the first time and thinking it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen – it’s literally shaped like a pink grenade.

Le Parfum – Elie Saab

Picked by Emilly, Digital Designer

I discovered Elie Saab Eau de Parfum while looking for something similar to Givenchy L’Interdit and Dahlia Divin. I love both of those fragrances, but they’re on the more expensive side.

Then I came across Elie Saab and thought it smelled just as good, so when I saw it on sale at Chemist Warehouse, I had to try it.

I love the honey, amber and musk. It’s sweet and warm while still feeling light – like a distant memory I never want to wake up from.

I don’t believe in saving perfume for special occasions. If I like it, I wear it, so this is an everyday fragrance for me. I like smelling cosy and intriguing, if that makes sense. I also tend to lean towards the darker side of life. I’m almost always wearing black and love anything gothic and mysterious, so this fragrance fits my vibe. The amber and honey add a warm, lighter side that balances out my darker aesthetic. Basically, it’s my way of smelling gothic – but make it pretty.

Vanilla Voyage – Maison Asrar

Picked by Mija, Social Media and Content Manager

I discovered Maison Asrar Vanilla Voyage Eau de Parfum through a viral TikTok – and when I smelled it for myself, I understood the hype. It smells like a warm, grown-up vanilla and I always receive compliments when I wear it. In fact, I’ve had people stop me on the street to ask what fragrance I’m wearing. I reach for it every day – it works for just about any occasion.

Scandal – Jean Paul Gaultier

Picked by William, UX Lead

I’ve never really been an aftershave person. I didn’t go out of my way to discover new fragrances and rarely wore them until a few years ago, when someone gave me Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Le Parfum Pour Homme for my birthday. I like Scandal because the caramel scent feels fresh and more natural to me, with warmer notes underneath.

It isn’t too heavy or musky like some other aftershaves, so I don’t smell like a burnt car battery. It has since become part of my regular rotation throughout the work week and for events on the weekend.

The One – Dolce & Gabbana

Picked by Ran, UX Designer

This fragrance came into my possession at the perfect time. My sister had broken up with her boyfriend and gave me the perfume he’d bought her – a major win for me as a broke student.

Dolce & Gabbana The One Eau de Parfum has all the notes I love, including mandarin, vanilla and rose. It isn’t too citrusy or sweet, and never feels too strong or overwhelming.

I usually save it for dinners, events and nights out when I know I’ll be around people. I’ve received plenty of compliments while wearing it, but one in particular stands out. A stranger on the train once asked which fragrance I was wearing because he wanted to buy it for his partner. I happily told him – then realised I hadn’t actually put on any perfume that day. It must have still been lingering on my coat.

Libre Flowers & Flames – Yves Saint Laurent

Picked by Mitra, Assistant Buyer for Vitamins

I first heard about the original Libre through TikTok, but when I went in-store and compared it with Yves Saint Laurent Libre Flowers & Flames Eau de Parfum Florale I preferred this one so much more. I love the floral, sweet and sexy punch it packs.

It settles subtly on the skin while still being noticeable enough to earn compliments throughout the day. It’s definitely my everyday fragrance. I don’t associate it with one particular memory – it’s more of a feel-good comfort scent that helps me feel confident whenever I wear it.

Iconic – Armaf Club de Nuit

Picked by Jason, eCommerce Trade Lead

A friend recommended Armaf Club de Nuit Iconic Eau de Parfum during a conversation about some of our favourite fragrances. I love its clean, woody scent and subtle fruity undertones. It’s incredibly versatile, so I wear it both day to day and for special occasions.

That clean, woody profile also reminds me of Bleu de Chanel – the fragrance I wore for the first time at my wedding – so it brings back memories of that day.

Cozy Amber Body Mist – MCoBeauty

Picked by Sarah, Content Lead

As someone who remembers when body spray meant being 13 and carrying a sickly sweet scent in my backpack, I didn’t expect to fall for one again – but MCoBeauty Cozy Amber has completely won me over. It feels surprisingly grown-up and sophisticated, with smoky chestnut and pink pepper creating a dreamy, fireside warmth, softened by sweet vanilla.

When I first smelt it, I recognised the scent instantly – it’s similar to a certain cult designer fragrance. I now keep it in my work and gym bag for an easy spritz on the go, and I’ve had so many compliments on it. No, really! I wore it to dance class the other day and someone stopped me and asked what I was wearing! It has seriously impressive staying power, too – especially for a body mist.
