Maltofer is an oral iron therapy for the treatment and prevention of medically diagnosed iron deficiency in adults and adolescents where the use of ferrous iron supplements is not tolerated or is otherwise inappropriate. Maltofer is less likely to cause side effects such as constipation, nausea and vomiting compared to ferrous sulfate.
Maltofer is Australia's number 1 selling oral iron^, for the treatment and prevention of medically diagnosed iron deficiency in adults and adolescents where the use of ferrous iron supplements is not tolerated or is otherwise inappropriate. Maltofer is a therapeutic formula, clinically proven* to correct iron deficiency. It is a non-ferrous iron that causes significantly less side effects, such as constipation, nausea or vomiting.
The absorption of iron from Maltofer takes place by a controlled mechanism. Maltofer does not release large amounts of iron at once, which is why it is less likely than ferrous iron to cause gastrointestinal side effects like constipation. Maltofer's active ingredient, iron polymaltose, ensures your body only absorbs the iron it needs when it is needed, providing reliable correction of iron levels.
