This prescription item requires a pre approved authority from the Government in order to get this item at the quoted price. Authority prescriptions need to be applied for by the doctor writing the script and can include reasons such as increased quantities due to dosage, increased repeats, use for a pre determined specified use, or the nature of the medication itself requiring specialist interaction. In the event that an authority is not granted on the script, the price will revert to the private price quoted for that item

This item contains more than one pack of a prescription product. Before this can be dispensed the doctor has to give approval. The prescription must be written for the total quantity or the prescription must be endorsed by your doctor "Regulation 24" otherwise we will be unable to dispense the increased amount. If you proceed with the order without approval, we will only send out one pack at the single pack price and refund the difference. Eg If your prescription is written out for 30 Tablets with 5 repeats and it does not have “Regulation 24 “ written on the script, the ONLY quantity we can dispense is 30 at one time. Further dispensing of this product could only occur after an appropriate length of time - usually 21 days but depends on dosage. In this example if you would like to obtain 180 Tablets then the doctor must endorse the prescription “Regulation 24” or the quantity must be written out for 180 and not 30. NB Conditions apply on the writing of a Regulation 24 prescription. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for details.

We can no longer accept signed authority forms from your doctor as permission to dispense more than one pack. Please contact our pharmacist for more information.

If you order this item as Private, NO PBS stickers will be issued. Once any prescription order has been sent the product cannot be returned for a refund even if your doctor changes your medication or you have an adverse reaction.

How much to use

The usual dose of Zaditen is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice a day (in the morning and evening). How to use it

This medicine is available in a multidose bottle and in single dose units. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine. Wait for 15 minutes after using it before reinserting your contact lenses.

The ingredients in Zaditen can affect contact lenses.

Follow these steps to use the multidose bottle (steps 1-2 and 5-10) or single dose units (steps 1-9 and 11):
1. Wash your hands before using the drops.
2. Open the multidose bottle or blister pack of single dose units.
3. Remove the strip of single dose units and tear off one single dose unit from the strip. Hold the single dose unit by the tab with the nozzle pointing downwards and tap gently until all the air bubbles are above the solution.
4. Twist the tab off the single dose unit.
5. Make sure the tip of the dropper or single dose unit does not touch anything as this may contaminate the solution.
6. Hold the bottle or single dose unit in one hand between the thumb and forefinger.
7. With your head tilted back, use the forefinger of your other hand to pull down the lower lid of the eye to be treated.
8. Place the dropper or single dose unit tip close to your eye but without touching your eye or eyelid, and squeeze the bottle gently so that one drop falls into the pouch between your lower eyelid and your eye, and then release your lower lid. Only one drop is needed.
9. Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of your eye with your forefinger for one minute.
10. Treat your other eye in the same way if it is also affected.
11. Close the bottle and keep it at room temperature (below 25 degrees C). Discard the multidose bottle and remaining solution four weeks after opening.
12. Discard each single dose unit immediately after use. Keep remaining single dose units at room temperature (below 25°C) and preferably in the outer carton (see After Using Zaditen Storage).

If you are using any other eye drops at the same time as Zaditen, leave an interval of at least 5 minutes between each drop to stop the drops being washed out of the eye.

How long to use it

Stop using this medicine when the itching has gone.

If you forget to use it
