It is important to remember that Climara patches are a PRESCRIPTION ONLY MEDICINE - you should only use Climara patches as directed by your doctor.
Climara 25, Climara 50, Climara 75 and Climara 100 are the brand names for adhesive patches applied once a week for hormone replacement therapy.
Climara 25 contains 2mg of estradiol (a natural female sex hormone) in each patch. Climara 50 contains 3.8mg of estradiol in each patch. Climara 75 contains 5.7mg of estradiol in each patch. Climara 100 contains 7.6mg of estradiol in each patch.
The suffixes '25", "50", "75" and "100" refer to the daily amount of estradiol released into the system by the respective Climara patch.
Estradiol is a type of estrogen. Estrogens are produced by the ovaries during the child-bearing years of a woman's life.
